The other day, I went to see "Iwami Kagura" performed in Hamada City, Shimane Prefecture.
Iwami Kagura is a kagura that is characterized by gorgeous costumes, powerful masks, and dances that match the musical accompaniment.
Regular Kagura performances are held in Hamada City, and efforts are being made to promote tourism using Kagura as a resource.
At JR Hamada Station, there are posters of Kagura and a mechanical clock, and it is obvious that it is a town of Kagura.
This time, I went to see the "Yokagura" performed at Sannomiya Shrine.
Originally, yokagura was performed all night, but this yokagura simply meant that it was performed at night, and it was a one-hour performance.
The demon mask of Iwami Kagura is very powerful.
This is the standard performance "Yamata no Orochi".
Susanoo-no-mikoto and Kushiinada-hime have appeared.
This is the scene where Susanoo no Mikoto exterminates Yamata no Orochi who tries to eat Kushiinadahime.
