"Amanoiwato" Legendary place

"Amanoiwato" is a legendary place that appears in Japanese mythology, but there are places called Amanoiwato in many places in Japan.
Among them, Amanoiwato Shrine in Takachiho Town, Miyazaki Prefecture is famous.
The next day after watching Takachiho's Night kagura, I went to Amano Iwato Shrine, where Amanoiwato is located.

Amanoiwato is the hiding place of Amaterasu Omikami. As a result, the world became dark, and the gods tried to bring Amaterasu Omikami out of Amanoiwato and return it to its original state. Based on this myth, there is a kagura called Amanoiwato, which is performed all over Japan.

A little further back from Amanoiwato Shrine, there is a large cave called “Amanoyasukawara”.
In mythology, it is said that when Amaterasu Omikami hid herself in Amanoiwato, All the deities gathered on the riverbed for a meeting.
It is famous as a power spot, and it is said that if you make a wish while stacking stones, your wish will come true.

Speaking of Takachiho, there are places that you definitely want to visit for sightseeing other than Amanoiwato Shrine.
It is the Takachiho Strait.
It is a beautiful place with columnar rocks and a deep green water surface like an emerald.
You can enjoy the mystical scenery from boats and promenades.
