About Kagura (神楽)

Kagura is one of the traditional performing arts of Japan. There are many different forms of kagura. Some are held in the imperial court, while others are held throughout Japan.
The kagura dance, which is based on mythology and is performed wearing a kagura mask, the shrine maiden dance, and the lion dance, are all "kagura".
The definition of kagura is to "entertain the gods and soothe the soul."
It is the most liberal tradition in Japan, made up of people's wisdom and creativity.
